    Unhappy USB Flash Drive Warranty

    Good Day fellow istoryans!

I just wonder how many USB owners here have their USB flash drives gone bad? A lot of big companies (Transcend, Kingston, Sandisk etc.) claim that some of their USB flashdrives have LIFETIME Warranty, but here's the catch, when you buy any USB flash Drives from any retailer store, they tell you warranty only is 3-6 months. I mean how is that?

    Heres my story,
I purchased a transcend 4Gb USB Flash drive from a retailer in SM more than a year ago, eventually it quit working, so I checked the website--- wow! my USB flash drive has lifetime warranty, so they have a tool in the same website if your USB flash drive is authentic. yes it's authentic. I emailed transcend on the RMA process- they refered me to the distributor, when I called several times. they told me a lot of things. that i have to go to the retail store where i purchased the Flash drive, i went to the store, they told me its only 6 months warranty. I spent multiple emails to the distro, not a single reply...

Whats totally wrong is why would big complanies claim lifetime warranty, where in retailers would only say 6 months warranty. Im no longer pushing for a replacement for my 4GB but what if i got a 16GB or 32GB flash drives im sure i would like to have it RMA'ed.

Your thoughts on this one mga istoryans!

I think for Transcend, you need to register the product within 30-days after the date of purchase otherwise you will lose the lifetime warranty. By the way, I have a Transcend 16GB flash drive registered to the lifetime warranty 2 years ago.

^^ mao niy kasagaran problema sa atong shops diri na they promise to give you that certain date of warranty pero nigpa rma na gani daghan kayog i.rason kesyo out of warranty, wala na ma contact ang supplier, dili dawaton sa supplier or unsa panang rason dha..do we have any laws for this naa kinanglan jud nila dawaton atong gipa rma specially covered pa cya sa warranty or else the store gets negative points from the authorities?sa states gani they have this money back guarantee where if you dont like the product pwede pa nmo mauli after 15 days with a full refund and when in terms of warranty customer will always be given the priority not the seller.

i just hope this will change in noynoy's time...hayysstt.....

naa man didto RMA form and mailing address where to ship it out. so your not send it back to the shop or distro. direct nimo siya i.uli sa manufacturer. ang catch lang is you will be the one to pay for the shipping/handling cost.

naa man ta direct replacement for 7 days and 1 year warranty diri sa pinas. mao gani na ang store kung dili sila mufollow ani na rule then they will tell you out right unsa ila after sales support i.e. "six months ra ang warranty ani sir" so if you proceed on buying the item then you are waiving your rights. meaning kung dili ka ganahan sa ila warranty policy then you have all the rights to find some other shops that follows the rules to the letter.
