Which should we buy? Canon

-Powershot SX1 IS = 20x optical zoom, full HD recording, 10 mp
-EOS 1000D
-EOS 500D = really want this, pero murag di kaya sa bulsa.hehe

Nindotan gyud raba ko sa powershot, pero mas.ganahan gyud ko sa 500D, mahal lang gyud.
so between 1000D and powershot, which is better. I mean, puslan man mugasto ko, DSLR na lang unta. pero, please help me decide friends.

Get a DSLR. There's no doubt about it!

Canon 1000D!

If you have the extra cash get the Canon 500D as it has a larger screen and full HD Video Recording.

If you want to serious in photography, then get a DSLR. The 500D is a good deal. But if you just want a compact complete package, then you won't go wrong with the SX1 IS. =)

first, for what purpose why you shall buy camera?

remember, buying a dslr should eventually lure and might force you to buy lenses to suffice additional capabilities like telephoto, ultra wide angle shooting, or macro. it will somewhat be a frequent upgrade as time goes by so get ready for it. unlike with that Bridge camera(Canon SX1IS), the features can be somewhat complete already in a compact w/o the hassle and costly buying of additional expensive lenses for additional capabilities. as they said, if you want to get really into serious photography, a dslr is worth the investment. but if you want photography for enthusiasm but with advanced capabilities like with a dslr and somewhat all-in-one(telephoto,wide angle, macro,video) minus the tendency to buy additional expensive stuffs to suffice some purposes then get the Bridge/Prosumer type.

If you can, go for the 500D.

If not, the 450D is still a step ahead of the 1000D and the price should have dropped since the 500D came out.

Nikon DSLR mas barato ang body... mas mahal lang lens compared sa Canon.
Go 3rd Party Lens!!! =)
