Hanging Onto Doors (or how I had a funny little accident today)

I had a funny accident enroute to work.
I was riding front seat on a 17C jeepney towards IT Park, when I noticed that the door was kinda loose. So, instinctively, I sort of held on tighter to the door...
When the jeepney made the left hand turn to enter IT park...the door suddenly SWUNG OUT! And with me still clinging on it!
It made a full 180 degree (or maybe 175-177-ish if you want me to be more precise) swing out, and I found myself right beside the engine/hood of the vehicle, hanging on for dear life.
Unlike the 3D sketch I made above for illustration purposes, I was using BOTH hands to hold on to the door, when it swung out, which prevented me from going SPLAT on the pavement. The guy beside me on the front seat also helped me out by holding on to my hands (whoever you are, thanks, I forgot to thank you).
The jeepney stopped, and everyone onboard looked at me with a strange mix of bewilderment, shock, and perhaps amusement (I really looked like one of those cartoon characters stuck on something while my legs flailed madly in midair). I got down from the door and just told the driver to drive on, and he replied "Oy, wala diay nimo gisirado ang door?" Yeah right. I too, thought it was closed--but I didn't own the vehicle, the driver did, and if he knew that his door was loose, why didn't he make sure it was closed when I got on? *shakes head*
Oh well, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger. Today, hanging onto doors made me a stronger person, I think.
