Recreating bin Laden's Abbottabad Hideout in Second Life

Rate this Entry
In probably one of our fastest build operations ever as a content creation firm, my Avatrian teammates and I (three of us are iStoryans) reconstructed Osama bin Laden's Abbottabad Hideout in the virtual world of Second Life.

We also created a video (machinima), a less-than-serious reenactment of the Navy SEALs assaulting the compound, which I will post in this blog entry as an update in a few days.

You can actually GO there...as an avatar...visit it now...

(NOTE: you need to download the Second Life viewer, and install it, before clicking on the link)

It's fast becoming a popular hangout in Second Life, after this blog posted news about it: http://nwn.blogs.com/nwn/2011/05/bin...cond-life.html

UPDATE: Here's the video we made: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dr-gZfJ2V50
We're not trying to win an Oscar here. We just want to showcase how virtual worlds can be used as rapid-development platforms for detailed animated sequences like as depicted in this video.
