Leukemia Run For the Cure

Leukemia Run For the Cure, a run for cause on August 16, 2015. 4:30 AM will be held at ​Plaza Independencia, Cebu City. This run is for Budjie Ouano, who is an eight year old boy suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Proceeds from this run will help fund for his treatment.

Letter from the mother, G​racielle Banzon:
We are inviting everyone, enthusiasts and runners of all paces, to join us on August 16, 2015 at Plaza Independencia, Cebu in a Fun Run named Leukemia Run for the Cure, for the benefit of Leonardo Nicolas “Budjie” Banzon Ouano,​ an eight year old boy suffering from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.


Budjie was diagnosed with high-*risk leukemia February of 2014, and has relapsed this May 2015. He is in desperate need of bone marrow transplant which costs a huge amount. This benefit run has been organized to raise the funds he needs for the transplant. We, his family, wish to invite you to join in this mission to save his life. Budjie is the second of five children, the most sweet and hyperactive of the brood.

We, the parents, cannot fund for his cure alone and so are doing the best we can to provide him with the best possible cure. The run will start at 5:00AM with 2km, 5km and 10km routes at respective registration fees of P250 (2km), P350 (5km) and P450 (10km). All categories come with corresponding kits. We are also accepting runners who wish to disregard the kits for P100 less of the category they wish to join in. We encourage everyone to bring family and friends along in celebration of life as we save the life of a little boy.
