    Default speedstream 4200 port forwarding

    Hi There,

This is so easy to achieve but it's not working using speedstream 4200, the one from Globe. I tried to forward all HTTP request to another computer running a web server. The web server is accessible by other workstations. I did change the default port of the modem/router to something else so that port 80 is forwarded to this webserver.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

libog bitaw iya pasabot...iif ang mo access the web nimo is only in the same subnet as your webserver ,dili na kinahanglan man PF...if over the internet ang moaccess,u need to tweak ur router. besure port 80 is pointing to correct destination IP . btw,are u using linux or windows for ur webserver?

sorry kung nalibog mo.hehe. i want my web server to be accessible in public. so mahulog nga ang level would somehow be like this:

    Internet
    -Globe Speedstream 4200(static IP)
    --Wingate(PC)
    ---Webserver(Windows)
    ---other workstatons

The Wingate PC has two NICs, one is connected to a switch at the same level with the webserver and the other NIC is sa Globe Speedstream 4200 modem. Internet is working, computers can ping each other, web server is accessible within LAN, speedstream internal IP(192.168.254.*) can be pinged by computers in 192.168.1.*. The Globe Speedstream 4200 configuration page is accessible using its public IP address and internal IP. The Globe Speedstream 4200 also acts as DHCP and DNS server in 192.168.254.* network. I want nga a request on a particular port will be forwarded to my webserver or even sa wingate PC at least.

I hope medyo clear na. hehe.... And thanks for replying.

ah...havent use wingate ..dili ko kabalo ana...pero dapit ngani na sya: sa imong speedstream ,ang destination IP nimo sa PF ang ip sa wingate NIC1(which s connected to your router)..from wingate napod..mag set pod ka port forwarding/NAT nga mo point sa IP sa imong webserver.thats it...turn off first the firewall para dali ra pagtroubleshot.(assuming that ang webserver connected sa wingate)btw, ang imo webserver directly connected sa speedstream?

That's exactly what I did. You see, our company was with Mozcom before using sDSL connection and everything was running smoothly, not to mention that they gave us 1 block of IP. Our office move to another place but Mozcom cant provide internet so we switch to Globe because we're using Globe tel. But I didn't used port forwarding at that time. I simply connect the Mozcom modem/router to a switch, assign static public IP to the web server and point to Mozcom's DNS and everything was working well.

    This is the setup:

    Speedstream(modem/router) = PF -> wingate NIC1
wingate(gateway/proxy) = PF -> web server (wingate has 2 NICs, connected to speedstream and the other to LAN switch)

Wingate has this built-in web server feature. So I can host a website in Wingate itself or forward packets to a certain webserver. The problem is, Speedstream isnt forwarding to wingate whether wingate acts as a server or it simply forwards http requests to another web server. I guess it doesnt really matter what kind of gateway I'm using whether smoothwall, linux proxy or wingate.

Have you guys tried port forwarding of speedstream? Did it worked for you? Do I have to update the firmware?

    Thanks a lot.

try to isolate the problem first try connecting ur webserver directly to ur globe and see if it works and pf the webserver in the globe router...

that way, u dont need to guess where exactly is the problem...

other option would be to change ur globe's modem from router mode to bridge mode so that u only need to configure ur wingate
