Looks good indeed I'll give them that as I read the specs more I was disappointed. No built-in optical drive, no built-in Ethernet port, and a sealed non-user replaceable battery? That's insane. I know a lot of people who always brings an extra battery for their laptops with them, so in case one runs out and no AC outlet nearby... they can always swap it over with another one. So this thing is a major turn off. People may tolerate the sealed battery on an iPod, but for a notebook? C'mon Steve what were you thinking...

for us it'll be a burden but for them it'll hit the market besides, why would they make such notebook if they know that it wont hit the market. most of my foreign friends use mac.

I think it is pretty good. like most people, they overlook the purposed, its a ULTRAPORTABLE. think Sony viao type of mobility which cost about the same.

You sacrifice certain features with mobility. All the features people have listed would add more thickness to the laptop. The form factor is the feature.

^^True but I just think Apple went a bit too far by sacrificing a lot of relevant features for the sake of being the most thin and lite. If you look at the Toshiba Portege R500 for example, now that is one great ultraportable notebook right there without too much compromise. Sure it's not as thin as the Macbook Air, but are people that desperate these days? Are we too lazy now to bring that extra carry case for our notebook that we have to make sure now that we can just slip it in to a manila folder?

Well what do I know. I'm no Steve Jobs so I guess he has done his research and know that there's a market out there for this product. The Macbook Air is obviously not a roadwarrior, nor it's aimed at the business market, not for gamers either, nor the average user (too pricey)..... so I guess that leaves the people that has a lot of disposable income who prolly doesn't use their computers that much. Thinnovation indeed.
