Default winxp memory and harddrive issues

hello, i have some questions regarding memory and hard drive capacity in winxp. i tried to do a search but couldn't come up with definite answers so if this has already been discussed before please direct me to the thread.

i have 4 gigs of ocz ddr2800 memory but winxp is only registering 3.5 gigs system memory. naay mga user dre with win xp nga nag 4 gig ram? i've found some topics on the net that suggest 4gigs ra daw limits sa winxp between your video card memory and ram. im using an evga 8800gt with 512mb of mem so that may explain why winxp is only registering 3.5g (3.5 + 512 =4g total memory) anyways i just hope to hear if other people are having the same problems or if they somehow managed to get all 4 gigs to be posted.

my second problem is that i have a 250gig seagate sata drive but win xp only recognizes 130gigs. from the bios you can see all 250 but when i do the windows install it only shows 130. im using winxp pro sp2 (pirated version)

for the memory bro, windows xp 32bit edition can only support 3gigs memory max (pde ma tweak to about 4 gig i google lang). 64 but editions can get to around 8gig. physical memory is not related to your video card's memory.

sa case sa imong hard disk, basin wala pa na partition ang the rest sa 250 gigs nimo bro. you can verify that by right-clicking to my computer then click 'manage'. look for something that mentions disk management. if naa cya did2, then you only have to partition the remaining space on your hard disk. you can use that disk management thingy or use 3rd party software like partition magic or paragon.

i believe 3.5GB ang max sa winxp 32-bit.

    ah tama sakto ka bro.

what i meant by 3gig is that its the most viable max memory if you go on dual channel mode (2x1G, 2x512mb)

Der FuHRER, salamat kaayo sa reply bay, ako na nagamit ang full capacity sa hard drive and as of now im looking for a way to use all 4 gigs sa memory.

jintatsu salamat sad sa reply, naa lan ko question about sa win xp 64bit, ok ra ni cya in terms of compatibility sa mga software? dili ni lisod pangitaan ug drivers? dayon is this much better than 32 bit in terms of performance?

i think you will have a little problem sa driver coz 64-bit is not that widely used compaired to 32-bit xp. and i think you need to install 64-bit capable applications only. if you install a 32-bit application then you may need a patch from the software maker therefore licensing your software is a factor.
