Usually a simple press of a Fn key plus a [>+<] symbol (usually above the Function keys) will do it for some Centrino-based laptops...you will be prompted with a screen that will allow you to select which available signal to use, and then just follow the steps to get connected.

Wireless LAN is a device that detects wifi activity in the area, which is imbedded to your laptop.. This device usually have an ON/OFF switch or keys.. Wireless LAN is also supported with device driver.

Wireless Zero Configuration is the software that supports your Wireless LAN Device, so that it can detect wifi activity in the area... Wireless Zero Configuration is part of XP operating system...

ah ok ..so it says "no wireless networks are found in range"

that happens if : there is no wireless signal in the area.. but if sure ka nga naa ju'y wireless signal ... IT has something to do with the wireless switch/radio of the laptop..
that depends on the brand of the laptop.. there are some laptops that has a wireless button , other laptops have a switch at the side of the laptop..

    for DELL laptops: click Fn+F2
    IBM laptops: click Fn+f5

or read the manual again , kung asa ang wireless switch..tan-awa ang brand sa laptop kay para ato pangitaon ang wifi switch..
