After you plug the PATA cable to the HDD what's next? Until what portion lang siya?

If the mobo can't detect the hard disk then the cable is the problem. If the hard disk is detected but it hangs everytime you turn ON your computer then the culprit is the HDD (You can't recover if this is the situation.)

If the heads are damaged (clicking), reputable data recovery firms in Canada or the U.S. is the only option left for recovering files. These people have invested a lot of money for a CLEAN ROOM, and have the technology to replace heads.

But it will cost you at least US$1,000, AFAIK. Even then, most people there would be willing to pay for that...

If the spindle turns but hard disk is not detected (provided no clicking sound), then it's a firmware problem that needs to be corrected first before you can use data recovery software. Greenvalley could recover data in cases like this.

If the hard disk is detected fine but hangs on read, no data recovery software could handle this. Greenvalley could also tackle this kind of problem.

And if the hard disk is detected fine and and does not hang on read, you can recover data yourself... That's so easy. You won't need a data recovery specialist, because any data recovery software could easily recover deleted files.
