Default Intel to launch Penryn on November!!!

Another bad news for AMD, Phenom isn't out yet and Intel is launching Penryn ahead of schedule.

The company's first 45 nm processor based on the Penryn core will be officially introduced on Nov. 12. While there were no details available immediately, Penryn is expected to debut in dual- and quad-core desktop versions (with up to 410 million transistors) initially. The chip will be available earlier than generally anticipated and could beat AMD's 65 nm Phenom to the market. 15 new 45 nm processors are scheduled to be introduced by the end of the year and another 20 in the first quarter of 2008. In total, there will be more than 750 prodcuts integrating a Penryn process in the near future, Intel CEO Paul Otellini said during his opening keynote.

there is no sense in making 3-core only CPUs in a financial stand point. These are quad cores with a single core probably defective/turned off. Rather than throw it away, sell it as 3-core CPU. This is normal practice esp sa graphics cards.. they all have the same cores, except some pipes have been disabled or some are defective and it has been turned off.

anyway, the site you quoted itself say it so. balika basa bro third paragraph.

Of course, the 3x Phenoms do not really have just three cores on a die, but rather four with one core being cut off.

    sure ka?asa na news?

kay from what we have seen from barcelona is a very small performance increase, and we have not yet seen them head2head with penryn.

id like to go to the site where you found the info.

BTW. AMD's IMC rules over Intel's mediocre memory management, and Intel dudes intend to copy(damn bastards...)

" Nehalem brings major changes not just to the processor but also to the way in which it communicates with memory and other processors, a technology formerly called CSI, which variously stood for Common System Interconnect or Interface, and now branded as QuickPath Interconnect, or QPI. QuickPath reproduces a technique that rival Advanced Micro Devices used for years to market share against Intel and secure a solid position in all four major server makers' product lines."
