Default Sony Ericsson Firmwares: Are they ok?

Hi guys. I'm kinda new to the SE phones. I have a Sony k750i right now. Just wanna ask a couple of questions. Is it true that upgrading to a newer firmware improves the phone's performance? And is it ok and safe to upgrade to a new firmware? And would the phone's warranty be void if you actually switch to the new firmware?

I would also like to add some question with k750. if upgrading the firmware will the warranty be void? will it still be sim lock or network lock?

if you get the firmware from the official site, then it's OK. the company won't stake their reps if that software/update would be hazardous to your fones...

In the end, cowards are those who follow the dark side.

Also, before you download the said firmware, try to check the disclaimer if the warranty would be voided or not... Depends on the company man gud...

The Sony-Ericsson in Ayala-Cebu do they upgrade firmware? Its safer if they are the one, para dili sila maka sulti na ma-void ang warranty?

Yah it would be better if you inquire nalang from them... But based on my experience (with other companies) naa jud na disclaimer..

Like when I upgraded the firmware of my Ipaq, naay disclaimer nga dili ko maka claim sa warranty in case maguba in the process of upgrading (because the process is done by the user naman and the firmware was also more of just a simple optional update and not a compulsory process due to a factory bug or something )....

Naa sad uban, like a digicam, nga mu-apply ang warranty..

In the case of Sony-Ericsson, inquire nalang sa Ayala para sure jud........ I don't have any idea kung mu upgrade sila but if the store in Ayala is a service station then FOR SURE mu upgrade jud na sila especially if the said firmware was issued by the company....

Just had my phone's firmware upgraded to the r1n035. Ambot lang sa volume sa mp3 speakers niya nga it's said to be louder, but mao raman gihapon ang result. Anyway, the good thing is that the camera pictures are really better and the framerate is faster. Kabantay sad ko wala na hing freeze akong phone, and nakabantay sad ko mas dugay mahurot ang batt. Guess there's something in the r1n035 that let's the phone consume less energy sa batt. Wala ko nagmahay sa pag upgrade. Thanks again for the info.
