Default Hard Disk Problem - CMOS cant detect

    Hi Guys,

I have this Hard Disk problem.
The CMOS cant detect but it still can receive power. I wonder why it just crashed when nothing seems wrong with it. Wala man sad prompt from Windows. By the way, Im using XP.

Before it crashed, I've heard long beeps during startup for few days but I thought memory problem lang. That noise nga you hear when floppy cables kay incorrectly pag connect sa drive. In ana man to sa unang panahon.hehe. Mo tingog bitaw then mo red ang light basta wrong pag taod ang cables. Wala man sad siya disk error or ni crashed when I was still using it.

It's freaking me out kay wala man lang information from the system. The hard disk is mga 2+ years plus na. It's 40 GB seagate.

I've tried searching na sa topics here but lahi man ila cases.

    Thanks in advance!

while the computer is off, remove the power or the IDE cable from the hard disk (not both of them). switch ON the computer. of course boot error bec hard disk is not connected properly. switch off the computer. return the proper connection of hard disk then switch on the computer again. hopefully, ma detect ug balik. kung dili, contact ruelnov.

detach it... and try it on another computer bro.. if ma-detect... then loose connection rana ... or wrong config.

try to check your jumpers.... pud

The jumpers are fine. I have an extra hard disk and tested it and it worked. I havent tried it with other MOBO though. The CD drive and my other hard disk works man even using the same IDE cable and power cable that the defective hard disk is using.

    thanks.

dili man cmos ang i-update ana bro, BIOS man.

also, 2+ years naman niya nagamit ang HD using that board so its not a BIOS issue.
