Nagregister ko cause I need to search a specific topic and then I have to post pa 40msgs?. daghan na kaau mo topics/postings. I don't need to search it manually.
Hinay inyo SQL? queries are not using index scan in the execution plan? maybe it needs some tuning. Or maybe you have to apply caching strategy sa inyo webapp.
Di pa man cguro mo kaabot ug 100k views per day para mo hinay inyo servers.

ask the new members if ganahan ba sila ani nga feature. i think majority is mao na ila gusto.

First of all, we serve more than 300k pages on most days. 2nd, if you can't live with it there are more options out there. 3rd, it's 30 posts not 40 but we might make it 100 if majority of the newbies keep abusing the system.

So how about my suggestions above of optimizing your system?
Second, don't you think the pages that will be served per day will be lessened since the user will just have to search and then click once the topic is found.
Best case scenario - 2 operations (search, click page no.)
Worst case scenario - x operations. (main topic -> subtopic -> specific topic ->...-> page no.)

If a user doesn't have search permission then definitely more "useless pages" will be generated.

Can you specify how do people abuse the system here?

How about just limiting the number of "search operation" of a user in a given day?

Everything is optimized as far as the system is concerned. Abuse is a general observation and there are incidents of abuse wherein the search feature is heavily involved which you don't need to know about. News & Announcements should be a good starting point for you.

4. Make sure that the topic you are about to start with have not been discussed already. Please use the search feature first. Any redundant topics will be locked or deleted on sight.
