BTW, He meant Filipino Language (the Tinagalog).

I've known this foreigner for quite a long time (I think 4+ years).

This foreigner been here for 8+ years pero not straight. Pabalik2 ra ky naa cya business didto then he has family here as well. Pinakataas na ang 6 months stay in a year.

Before (1st year sa foreigner dre Cebu) ingon cya nga "I hate Filipino language" but in my thoughts I completely disagree. I just smiled & say "Okay".

Last 2 years ago he said again "I understand few Filipino(Tagalog) but I love Visayan language (he meant the Binisaya)."

This time even if he could not speak Tagalog but can understand both Tinagalog and Binisaya.

So I asked him why the first time he was here hated the Filipino Language.

These are his few answers: (gikuha lng nko ang thoughts sa iya giingon and not the complete/exacts words)

* Its confusing. He literally said "maka-bugo".
Why? ky gigamit dw ang English words (he meant the salitang hiram sa Filipino) to confuse people especially in spelling and wrong diction.

Ok ra kuno kung mag-istoryahanay pero if kung mgfill-up na ug form or mangaply ug trabho dili mn ang "salitang hiram gamiton" nga kuno official/accepted nmn dw ni dre Philippines instead English spelling mn gihpon ibutang.

Ingon sd nya nga if masayop sa pronunciation or diction issue ma tolerate ra ky pinoy lagi, but the bad effect/result dili na kuno ma correct hangtod na modako (I assume bata iya gipasabot).

Mas maayo pa kuno ang Binisaya ky mostly mogamit gyud sa english word using the correct pronunciation.

Kay pra nako if mo-disagree gihapon ko sa foreigner I think PRIDE nlng ang ako i-rason (kay mka insulto sd bya gmay ), but not the real fact nga tinuod sd baya ...

Yeah it's true, i met native tagalog people; most of them speaks like this. Pero kaning writing, dependi man cgro ni sa mga tawo didto. Some urban people like tambays but has a job but not a professional work, ig-ani iyang spellings. Hehehe

Thanx pero dili lng ni gigamit sa pag-istorya or sulat sa mga tagalog bai... these are official words that can be use for verbal or written communication. "Salitang-hiram" kuno... I don't know actually if naa nba ni sa mga Filipino dictionaries..

with my experience depende kay most of my friends kay mas mo prefer sila sa pilipino kay kbaw kuno mo English then atong english masabtan ra whereas sa uban nationalities mga lisud. unya para sa uban nationality nga di kabw mo english mo ingon gani sila maau ta kay atong mga words kay naa'y english where as sa ila wala jud maski uban words. so depende basn ma pride tong foreignera...

ika remember naa tay own dialect so maski english words na once kita ang mo istorya gahi baya ang atong dila so ika spell ato jud ispell sa unsa atong pag pronounce.

I think dili pride sa foreigner sir @carbrill ... Cguro ang thought jud sa iya gisulti is ang language nga Filipino nag hulam ug english words pero gi usab ang spelling nga mao ramn unta ang meaning so dili about kung makasulti or maka litok ta ug mga english words...

well english words are also from different languages around the world. like guru from india, Entrepreneur from france and typhoon is from chinese/japanese. These words are pronounce differently in their own language so I disagree with your friend nga mo ingon cya dapat ienglish nato ang pag spell kay maski kana nga mga words di na english.

Well that is true, english words doesn't mean from English countries but I guess they use it with in the correct form like using words with the exact spelling.
