Me I saved a little at 32. Ako ra mathink na accomplishment is paying off all my debts and my car. But I was able to finish MBA in UP thru my own money , had our dream wedding , travelled with my wife , and helped pay my father's dialysis for years . I also paid half of my sister expense para kalarga sya abroad for four times failed attempts. 5 years na sya nurse now. Looking back , I may not have much but I believe I have done my role for my family. I won't count on how I spend if it's for people I truly care. Now I'm looking forward makastart og simple business with my wife. Life is too short to just focus on material things.

Ive Tried UItf , mutual fund , stock trade but Wala kaau dira ako swerte. Nahurot ako money permi for emergency expenses for hospital specially etc. I also tried small time business before. I think we just need to pray and do our best Kay bisan pag unsa nto ka-bright or kadatu, Ginoo rjud magbout if masuccesful ba ta financially. We need to humble ourselves and look beyond material things.

    Age: 26
Savings: 1.) Emergency Fund - 60k naa ra sa bank atm
    2. Long-term savings for retirement - 24k through Sunlife insurance policy which I started last year.

Been working for five years already and na-frustrate ko sa ka-gamay sa akong sweldo and wala pa gyud koy extra savings nga makuot kung manginahanglan. I guess, this story goes the same for us Filipinos. Alam kong hindi ako nag-iinusara. Charrr

But last year or 2015 ra ko nakat-on about financial planning from Sunlife kay naay pa-orientation and pa-snacks sa office. Haha (kaon ra gyud ang apas) pero na-learn nako Kanang dapat naa kay emergency fund nga makuot from time-to-time and at the same time, a long-term savings for retirement.

So mao to nakat-on ko na dapat ang emergency fund is 6x your current salary. Then nag-invest pud ko on a VUL insurance policy na 10yr payable for my retirement. At least dili nako ma-worry ba na wa koy kwarta after all the many years of working hard. As they say, we have to know how to make our money work for us. Dili kay sige lang ta ug trabaho for the money.

If naa mo questions, labayi lang ko sa inyo mga pangutana specially on Sunlife aron makatabang pud ko ba. Mahal ang insurance pero i-try ninyo nga way kwarta, diba mas mahal.

    Age: Late 20's
    Sweldo: 50k/month
Savings: UITF Fund, MP2 with PAGIBIG, Life Insurance, Joint Account with Partner (<50k kay bag-o pa gasugod tigum), Personal bank accounts mga 10k ra guro in total hahaha.

I also have my own small loading business.
