Default Worth it ba sa shop owners electric consumption ang change of Procie?

Question lang, worth it ba kung lan shop owner to change procie considering electric consumption. Naa naman nigawas nga celeron g1610 ug g1620 karon then 55 watts tdp compared sa usual dual cores nga nauna nga 65w tdp, then barato pa jud so far kita ko sa uban forum 1799 ang g1610. Unsa inyo masulti ani. thanks daan.

gamay ra na sila difference sa electricity bill bro... in actual... even those 95W processors... dako lang kaayo sila sa numbers on papers...

share ko sa akoang experience... na concern man ko sa pag basa2x nko diri sa mga comments man gud. so, akoang gibuhat kay nag double check ko sa mga past electricity bill receipts nako. during the previois years (in 2007 to 2008 time frame), ang main PC nko kay Pentium D 925 (95W), running 24/7, gamay ra man kaayo ang electricity bill difference pag change nko to a Pentium M 1.3 MHz (Banias @ 22W) then to Pentium M 780 (Dothan @ 27W... akoang gi pa ilisan sa seller ug PM 770 after 3 months kay wala mag run ug fuill speed. half speed lang. abi nko guba ang CPU but in reality, nag function ang speed step nya diay... bogo kaayo ko... nag katawa ko pag taod nko sa PM 770 after naabot ang ilis... naka realize ko na, normal ra to if mo kick-in ang speed step when idle ang CPU... bwahahaha... tsk tsk tsk...) then to Pentium M 770 (Dothan @ 27W)... nangukay ko diri sa akoang receipt sa electicity bill... kay nag padagan man ko diri sa Pentium D 925 napud as NAS w/ the other PC... my Celeron G530 is running 24/7 with the NAS (PD 925) for 1 week na... not to mention, na padagan pud ko sa other desktops... 5 in all (less the notebook PC... Lenovo X230 kay gamay ra ni kaon sa kuryente. kun i-chare lang... no count lang ni. usually, sa office nko ni ma charge)... mao ni ang remaining 3 desktops.. Celeron E3400 (mini-ITX), Pentium G840 (mni-ITX), i3-2120 w GTX 660 Ti in SLI (gaming rig).. during week ends pra mag update sila. usahay, bya-an lang nako mag dagan sila from Friday night to Monday morning)... balik ta's electricity bill... ang price difference nila kay around 20 rmb... around 105 php approx for the 6 months bill... on PD 925 & Pentium M running 24/7... this is my experience here. barato ra man ang electricity good diri. if naa dha sa atoa, i have no idea pila kaha ang delta nila sa monthly bills...

wala nko na mention na kay winter man diri (pero, hapit na mahuman), nag padagan ko sa heater all the time if naa ko diri sa balay... wala ra ang electric power consumption aning 5 desktops sa lamoy sa heater... hehehe... kun dili winter diri, mag sige pud ni'g andar ang aircon pud... ang heater & aircon kay 1 unit lang ni sya (split type). pili lang ta's function, either heater or aricon.... anyway, last month nko na electricity bill kay 358 rmb... roughly, 2.5K php... as i've said, gaan ra gyud kaayo ang bayad sa kuryente diri...

TDP is NOT a measure of how much power your processor will draw/eat...google lang...nay daghan kaayong discussions about the confusion TDP brings...

  5. #5
^ TDP is directly proportional on the electicity consumption of the CPU... if @ idle, bugnaw sya w/c means, gamay ra kaon sa kuryente. if @ full load, init sya, saka ang kaon nya sa kuryente... we don't know the actual electricity consumption of the CPU chip gyud... except if we well measure it in actual... in our case, we are just looking in theoritical numbers though... but the CPU power consumption is not the only gauge to be used... the whole system power consumption would be the one that we need to be cautious off... kani man ang mo draw ug over-all juice from the outlet...

gamit kaayo ang mga "power meter" gyud para sa pag check sa actual power draw from the outlet...

    yes . sakto sila SIRs^^^

the 65w TDP rating is for the procie ra at full load

but daghan pa man kaayo ug sud ang CPU

mobo | PSU | RAM | HDD | VC | FANS | + externals like KB and Mouse na LED + optional Card reader + some others like Piso-piso 12v power

so in totality and 65w , mahimong more or less 100w at idle or full load

and this is for piso-piso ra

samot na if personal rig with 125W ++ VCs + Multi HDD + ODD

here : theoritical Power consumption calculator : eXtreme Power Supply Calculator

and sa ako rig, ang 65W na Procie tdp nahimong 366w total

To upgrade from a Sandy Pentium is not worth it IMO. 65w is just the theoretical TDP. In actual they reallly consume less, more like 65w for the whole system or so. The difference would be more like 4-5w than 10w based on theoretical specs. The difference from a G6960 from a G840 is only 4w on load.

From an AMD, refer below (Prime 95) and be the judge.

    With an idle HD5870

Compute nato ang savings for 3years:

    Savings:
    3w x 8hrs x 360 days x 3yrs / 1000w/kw x 12php/kw = 309php

(3w lang kay almost half of the time they are not on load)

    Expenses:
    2400php (new ivy pentium ) - 1800php (current resale value for G620/630) = 600php

    + transpo + time + labor

your basing calculations at "idle" state-no one turns on a PC and just let it just sit there and do nothing. i dont know how you guys get your calculations, but i have noticable monthly electric bill saving by switching to g840+7750 compared to e5200@2.8ghz+4770.

@TS if i were to build a new setup for cafe use, i will definitely consider getting these procie. combine it with other energy efficient parts, u will save a lot long term. even if its just(if its accurate) P300 savings per unit for 3 years, its still big if u are running a lot of machines.

    IMHO.
