maybe try buying your kid some workbooks that have a lot of pictures and activities.. instead of a toy, but them a children's book/workbook/activity book. basin maganahan ra og answer2x ba, and he/she will learn in the process. at 4, simple math and reading/writing paman na. from my experience, reading with your child helps a lot, esp kanang bedtime stories

I started teaching my kid at 2, alphabets ug numbers. Amazing au mga bata karon, dali ra au makasabot, ug memorize, more on books ug coloring books pud amu paliton. Papilia sya ug books na ganahan sya. Unya i'll play as her techer, funny ky mga 2 or 3 sya if askd ug ngskul sya, muingon ug yes at home, nya mommy ang techer hehe. At 3 khbaw na sya sounds sa letters, write ug read hasta numbers. Magbutang ko ug charts sa house ug flash cards. Set ug limits jud, naay tym for play ug study. Use ur heart wen teaching ur kid, kay f not, mahurot jud imu patience. Buy ug book sa phoenics, or kang basic writing, naa mn nice books na cartoon character pud, pilia lng kna fave sa imu anak.

I have tried several methods in teaching my kids. Books, flashcards, posters, dvds,
softwares, internet programs, tv channels, downloads from net, games and many more.

Among those approach, for me-the most effective way was letting them watch
learning videos (tv series, learning dvds, movies with lessons, etc).

I downloaded tons of educational videos such as curious george, little einstein,
your baby can talk, super y, discovery videos, handy manny and many many
more.

Then I save it to an external drive and and plug it to our tv. For about 3 years
now my kids were not been absent in watching it everyday. Even if we will go for
a trip they will not miss in bringing it. (By the way we don't have cable)

I can say this is the most effective because my eldest can read even before he went
to school. He started reading when he was 3. And got Best Reader when he was
nursery.

But it is still necessary to familiarize them with the other methods because kids are
very different with each other. It's like troubleshooting your kid on the methods
that they like then focus more on that. Hope this helps.
