I don't know about you guys but why is it that all treos, XDAs have only 65K color screens? why can't they put a high-contrast 16mil color screens?
@comicGeek
Imho sir, most pdas smartphones right now are running win mobile5.0 pr 6.0 OS, this winMo OSes developed by kill 'Bill' has some display restrictions and I think they made it this way because pda smartphones offer myriad business and productivity apps that are using the intensively the phone's processor(s)
the more apps they offer, the more battery power it consumes.. higher screen displays would just speed up the battery power of this winmo devices...giving you nothing in the end to run your much love word app or excel app on your phone
I think in terms of sacrificing better offered apps on this devices, they would have to sacrifice something on the phone itself esp on the hardware side... and what better way to do it than the display screens itself.
just my opinion... cheers!
sakot jud ka,bro. with the fast changing improvements in mobile technology, the only thing lagging behind is battery life. i mean, yes i would really like to have this really nice sleek phone. but down the bottom of the list of specs is batt life. just a mere 1 and a half day or less. what a waste of technology!
what good is a 4 gig phone (with 4 gig of music and movies) when it will only last 3-7 hours playback?
@chanbri
Battery life is one of the drawbacks on most pda smartphones nowadays.. but if I can remember sir, since you have a treo650, i seemed to recall that there is a more robust extended battery available on the net called 'seidio' that will give your treos battery life more than what you're experiencing now..
have you checked this one lately? treo650s palm OS are fairly great smartphone devices.. i have used this phone before and what I love on this phone was its user friendliness in installing prc apps, and the much availability of this 3rd party apps (games, productivity suites).
Also I have done some comparisons between the 3 Osses, Palm Os, Winmo OS and Symbian OS, and I would have to say that alas.. the symbian OS is laggng in terms of performance, applications and user friendliness in most aspect.. WinMo come in second.. you may asked, why so?? Winmo Osses actually when you open an win app creates a cache (tmp files) every now and then, so the more applications you open, the more tmp files can be generated, thereby decreasing the performance of your oh so love winMo device...
lastly, I must give some credits to Palm OS, though this OS is not much used as compared before.. but I have yet to meet or encounter a virus that can penetrate a Palm OS device.. none i have ever encountered..though its not much robust and stable but performance wise, user friendliness and any other aspects that the user needs on a pda smartphone, IMho.. Palm OS is my definite winner on this..
Cheers :mrgreen:
