    Default Managing Static IP Addresses

    Hello everyone,

I just want to hear from anybody who are working as network administrators. How do you manage static IP addresses in an organization? How do you avoid users (or would-be users) stealing other static IP addresses which are configured with privileges, say, Internet connection? How would you detect / manage static IP addresses to avoid any conflicts in the network?

Your opinion will be greatly appreciated.

public ip address i-reserve ra jud para sa ga-kinahanglan ug internet connections sama sa mga servers, wan connections, etc... ang mga users i-private ip via dhcp server lang tanan unya limited sa user account, kadtong naay special privilege to access internet pa-agion ug proxy, then ang mga static ip inside the network i-exclude sa dhcp pool ang ilang ip address. if naay server nga naka private ip unya need ma-access sa public i-define nalang sa Layer4.

this is just on the user level. im aware of assigning static IP addresses to servers. this is about managing static IP addresses, not replacing on what the organization already have.

Walay conflict. Pero efficient ra ni siya sa gamay nga network which I assume gamay ra inyo users kay ngano ingon ana man ang setup sa inyong network.

masdali kung via IP range imo setup like 1-20 servers, 21 -100 for net allowed, 101 - 250 local only then set sa imo router.

    or

buhat ug router/gateway/proxy server(untangle, pfsense, etc..) or palit ug appliance then manual nimo manage each IP kung dili madala sa imo current router ug di ka ganahan mag change sa current setup.

one way or the other imo gyud na hilabtan ang current setup kung d sya systematic pag ka setup.

daily check sa logs then IR dayon kung na-a magtugatuga ug access.. Zero tolerance ang pag break sa rules net usage..
