i5 2500 non-k overclock

there is one thread similar to this but it doesnt have an answer to my question. so mag ask nalang ko.

i have also read in google through forums that i5 2500 non-k has a limit of 41 in the multiplier. compared to 57 sa k version.

here is my question. can i oc it simply by just changing the multiplier to 41 from 33? and i get an oc of 4.1ghz? disable lang nako ang uban features like turboboost, spread spectrum, speedstep, etc.



(i just want to squeeze a little bit more juice for gaming. ako 5850 na oc nako to 825/1200 from 725/1000 stock volts. so now, ang proc napod nako ako squeeze gamay. i have liquid cooling and decent psu so no worries about these things)

ma wala pod ang turboboost option when i do this. basin automatic iya i-turn off ang turboboost.

himoa lang siya nga core limit up to 4.1ghz....open cpu-z and use prime95.

non-k is not design for OC, so there should be a side effect if imng e OC... okay raman ang i5 2500 bro.. paspas na kaau.. dli gani nq e overclock akng i5 2500k.. pang benchmark dinha ra nq e OC..

overclocking it by changing the multiplier SHOULD be fine...no worries nga maguba...max ana is 42 kung ok kayo bin sa imong i5-2500...JUST DON'T TOUCH the baseclock...leave it at 100...a lot of things such as PCIE, USB etc. are tied to it...

do the IntelBurntest to see how stable it is...lookout for the weak core(s)...kadto ako sa una mo BSOD at x42...pinaka stable was x40...nag-run tu at that rate for mga 6months walai problema until nabaligya...mobo used was MSI P67...

yup, naka basa pud bitaw ko bro nga ang max sa baseclock is 105 from default of 100 (which will not make a very high overclock) ang pinaka easy daw is the multiplier. ok ill try stability testing for x41. if dili stable, ill go down to x40.

anyway, if i wont game, ill just load the default settings. ako ra i-oc pag magdula ko, same as what im doing with my vc.
