Landmark century old Acacia trees in Carcar to be chopped down!!!

Every trip down south of Cebu---going to Moalboal for beach camping or to cross over to Bais City for our annual dolphin photo documentation or survey, or simple just going down south, we never fail to enjoy one highlighted part of the trip which is to pass under a picturesque part of the road of a canopy of big acacia trees like passing through inside a tunnel of greenery with cool fresh air.

By the way, before I get carried away and burst into singing, ako pasabot is kanang road before you get to Carcar proper nga landong kaayo ug bugnaw inig agi kay sa daplin naa mga dagko ug karaan na kaayo nga acacia or unsa pa na ubang nga dako kahoy. (also as a reward after and enduring passing by that place kilometers a.k.a. Brgy. Baho)

And karon, just to give way to a multi-million road widening project, its gonna get chopped-down...simple as that.

Grabi na gyud siguro ka traffic ang dapit sa Carcar or south?

Kinsa to sige agi diha or, better yet, katong taga diha gyud do you think its really necessary to bring down these majestic trees just to give way to some raod widening?

I mean can they innovate and build or widen and build a road AROUND them (trees) and not through them?

I'm not against progress and development sa atong lugar (a multi-million project is a good guise for development) pero have we come to that tradition we are all to eager to step on anything in the name of "progress" a.k.a. quick bucks?

It's either create another road which would affect families that settle in that province area or chopped those trees. Mas mo prefer ko na i chop nalang na mga kahoya though sayang kaayo kay mga centuries old nana pero wala ta mahimo..

And yeah to answer your query na traffic na ba diha sa car2x? No dili pa cya congested ang traffic pero dapat padak-an na daan ang road kay nagkadaghan ang mga sakyanan.. Lahi ra jud ang katong 5 years ago taga biyahe nko padung negros (dgte,Bais,amlan,tanjay,gihulngan) kay gamay ra sakyanan, karon daghan2x na jud.

Tnx for the suggestion but I'd rather have this as a general concern coz para nako this is not a political matter
And yes, you have about chopping them trees than affecting families, but then para nako chopping them trees is just to speed up the implementation of the project and not because para dali mahuman, but (forgive my being doubtful and paranoid) para mulusot ang multi-million budget.
Ikaw man siguro familiar man siguro ka ana money matters, esp we're talking with lots of zeros mag abot2x baya dayon ana mga buwaya.

And if families ma affected I'm sure man siguro they'll be compensated man pud, kay kanang mga kahoya di na gyud na mabalik and it took years, centuries baya na nitubo

Actually there are other opts to implement the project without affecting both. But the problem is dako kaayo ang budget ana, and if diri sa pinas na cya i implement, it would be better to chopped off those trees rather than spend multi million project.

And the next thing is, yes you could be right that there's something fishy if the project is to be implement atm kay hapit na baya ang election.
