    Default Intel 330 (180GB) or Intel 520 (120GB) ?

Guys, which would probably give better value overall in terms of price/performance? Intel 330 (180GB) or Intel 520 (120GB) ? On top of the added capacity of course, would Intel 330 (180GB) be a better buy?

Gamay raman gud sila ligas og presyo...

    Intel 520 (120G) - P10,500 (TPC)
    Intel 330 (180GB) - P11,610 (PCX)

I've read somewhere that bigger capacity SSDs of the same make and model tend to perform better (e.g. Intel 330 120GB vs. Intel 330 180GB)...

^^ Mao sad nuon... Pero mas worth ba ang 5 years nga warranty sa 520? I mean, for sure daghan na kaayog mas better og mas barato nga SSD in 5 years time maski in 3 years time pa gani siguro...

i think you answered your question.. it will boil down to your budget. for me, i dont think its really worth it. but if money is not a problem then the green light is on.

intel 520 120gb wins.. no contest.. 520 series are made for extreme profile.. while 330 series are for mid profile intended to customers who wants to experience SSD in a cheaper budget...
    intel 520 120gb SATA 6Gb/s = read/write 550 MB/s / 500 MB/s
    vs
    intel 330 180gb SATA 6Gb/s = read/write 500 MB/s / 450 MB/s

if you want speed, then go for 520.. if you want more capacity go for 330..

    10k ra akong budget (+/- 15% hehehe)...

Anyway, kanang IOPS sa SSD asa na siya mahimong significant? I noticed man gud nga kung mas dakog capacity ang SSD mo taas pud ang IOPS... So just want to hear your opinion kung mas better ang 330 compared to 520 from that aspect...

p.s. I am still looking for the best and practical explanation about IOPS sa google...

IOPS means input output operations per second. it's a measurement of how fast a storage device operates.

^^ Right... So kung sakto akong pagsabot, murag mas maayo siguro ang 330 sah (comparing the 2 lang ha nga naa sa akong subject)? Or did I miss something here? Hehehe

    520 120GB 4k random read: 25,000 IOPS
    330 180GB 4k random read: 42,000 IOPS
