Default LG is currently gearing up for flexible OLED display production

It has been rumoured that LG is now building a production line for flexible OLED screens which is setting them back around US $176 million. Supposedly their first wave of flexible (unbreakable?) OLED displays will be 730 x 460mm, but it is yet to be established when LG plans to have its preparations finalized and production underway.
Some sources are anticipating production to commence as early as the end of this year, but there are other more conservative and believable estimates floating about that point to sometime in 2013 or possibly even 2014 before manufacturing begins.Flexible OLED displays show strong potential in being a much welcomed attribute to the world of smartphones and tablets, not to mention wearable gadgets and newer generations of TVs.Certainly, as is the case with any new form of technology making its way to consumers, expect to dig deep down into those pockets to be one of the first kids on the block sporting a flexible OLED-equipped device; that is if you haven't already sprung for one of Samsung's tasty morcels.Source: Kitguru
