Yes you can update free from the internet, but if you are afraid to brick your phone, let me do the update for you.

Requirements:

- Full battery or at least 80%
- Phone must be open lined.
- Update your firmware to the latest stock 2.1.1.A.0.6/2.1.1.C.0.0 SE firmware / Baseband: M76XX-TSNCJOLYM-53404015 using your Sony Ericsson PC Companion.


- Your phone release batch should be old for safe unlocking bootloader.
*check at the back of your phone, above the serial number

10W## through 11W25 should be considered safe
(where 10W## means "from start of production all through 2010")
11W26 through 11W37 could turn out to be problematic
(though I'm not sure what Laser means by that exactly)
11W38 and newer are supposed to hard brick
("no sign of life" .. no LED, no vibrate, no screen, no flash-mode connection)

Note that this seems to apply to the W8 E16 AND X8 E15 as well ...

Bro, nkasuway ka repair ug xperia x10 na magsige ug reboot?
Initially bro kay ang problem kay na off siya while ngcharge then pag.ON kay nawala ang signal.
Gisuway namu pacheck sa sony ericsson sa ayala then ila gisuway reformat / re-install android.
After re-install kay mkadetect na ug signal pero magsige ug restart.
Ako na observe is everytime mkadetect ug signal morestart siya.

BTW, sa Saudi ni gipalit na phone.
