Default Is "AMBOT" closer to NO or YES? The ambiguity...

The ambiguity of meaning of our famous local word "ambot".

More like subjective rather than an objective, more personal than generic definition is applicable. For example, mag-unsa ka sa sinulog? one might say, ambot!, evokes a multitude of possible activities the person may have a lot in his/her mind such that "ambot" denotes anything is possible.

On the question, "will you marry me? replied with "ambot!".. a question answerable by negative or affirmative, but ambot becomes the seemingly appropriate answer...in times of uncertainty and ambiguity.

Matinuod ba kaha ang ilang giingon about 2012? "AMBOT"

    hahay.....ambot!

It's more of a BAHALA NA si Batman. Go with the flow. Instead of an affirmed YES or a negated NO, one will choose to say nothing than being confronted of lots of WHYs.

Sometimes, being mysterious and vague at the same time is kinda more attractive than being as clear as black and white without the grays in between.
