Default Essential equipment for a photo hobbyist?

    Hello Guys!

Let's just say if money is not an object (as if!) , what are the essential equipment for an amateur hobbyist that eventually wants to turn pro? and WHY? any preferred brand, Nikon or Canon? WHY?

and one question, since it is now digital, would you agree that nowadays as long as you have the eye for beauty, photography is now more of a skill rather than talent?

Your inputs will be highly appreciated. Thanks a lot!

You can always use your equipments from amateur to pro. Being a pro doesnt mean more equipments, being a pro means you're doing photography as your money job and not just a hobby.

    Nikon 17-55mm f2.8

As for the list of ESSENTIALS, follow CrashBurn's list and you can never go wrong. hehehehe

Photography, even in the digital age, is both a skill and a talent. Not because you have the technical know-how to take photographs means you are a good photographer. An eye for beauty, passion and perseverance is a must for any photographer.

    Essential equipment for me are:

    1) A camera with a lens that will fit your style of photography.
    2) Gain knowledge about your craft and gear.
    3) Repeat #2 over and over again...
