Default MERGED: MARTIAL LAW and related issues

I heard someone saying nga naanad daw ang mga Filipinos ug People Power that's why sayun-sayunon nalang daw.... If ever naay mga issues like jueteng, People Power dayon.... kung naay mga scandal, People Power dayon.... Unya kung mu exercise ug Political Will ang president, i-label dayun nga nag Martial Law na kuno, tapos kung dili daw mu exercise ug political will, ingun dayun nga banga ang presidente...

What are your thoughts on this in particular, and the events in general

Og ngano na pul-an ang taw sa People Power tungod sa EDSA 2... kay after sila ga people power hoping nga mawala ang bati nga presidente... wala d i gihapoy nahitabo... kay ang ni puli para nila mao ra gihapon.

I don't think people like GMA mao walay people power... it is just because gikapoy na sila. Dili na sila manginlabot... maningkamot na lang sila og ilaha.

filipino loves to pull down to hos on top.. they don't even know wat dey could do something much better to help our country into a better living.. we always pointing our finger to whose to blame, not admitting the fact that we can somehow and in someway as a citizen help to improve this dying and polluted society.. we need each other...if we just always seeking someone's fault or mistakes, if we always complaining, if we always had excuses....then ho can really lead us? you? me? no one is better man for this country... if we only know to how to love our country probably by this time we can already go far...

that should have been every filipino's attitude right from the start and this country could have gone somewhere despite who the president is.

@LytSlpr: do you think this "walang paki" attitude is totally alright?

This may sound cynical. But any president is most likely to be corrupt even Bush is corrupt (see the documentary, Fahrenheit). I'm not saying that's acceptable but the Philippines is in too much turmoil that we cannot take another People Power.

Sa ako lang ha...we should focus on the economy na lang. Maybe GMA did cheat during elections and maybe she did benefit from jueteng. Rather than complain and point fingers about it, I'm going to push for tax on jueteng.

Honestly, there is so much money in jueteng that they wouldn't have to keep taxing daily commidities (ergo VAT 2). Maybe then makabayad na ta sugod sa atong trillion dollar utang. For me, we should focus on what we can do in the present and for the future.

do you think taxing jueteng would stop the illegal ways? Mao gani gahimo na sila og jueteng kay gusto nila solohon ang ilang kita... they don't wanna share. Kong gusto pa na sila mo operate lang og game of chance, nag operate ra onta na sila og lotto outlet.

Jueteng may become legal by name... but the illegal operators will remain.

my logic is simple, they are all corrupt. so i will just continue doing my thing as long as the one in office is the less corrupt.

How do you know that the official in place is less corrupt, because you feel she is less corrupt.

@LytSlpr: pareho anang jai-alai bai... gi-legal nila, pero ni undang ba ang masiao. Pwede tuod i-legal nila ang Jueteng... pero kaning mga illegal operator, maghimo ra ni sila og laing nga pangalan.
