Default VoIP Phone System Startup Kit

guys, i'm not sure if iv posted this topic in the right place heheh

basically we have a VoIP Phone System Startup Kit...

    - This is an start-up kit which will enable VoIP to function
on your local network within your company, office, department, school and home.
    - With this system, you can enjoy the benefits of call routing
within your organization at a lesser cost without setting up a
very expensive PBX system(HW solution). One-time cost of setup.
    - The system requires a base configuration of networked-computers
which most if not all organizations have today.
    - The following is the minimum requirement:
    - headsets (headphone and mic) for softphone
    - VoIP server (medium-end PC)
    - You can opt to use hardphones (like the VoIP phones of cisco,
    D-link, polycom and granstream).
    - The Startup-Kit does not require changes in your current
network configuration! This is a bump-in-the-network solution.
    - The Startup-Kit allows easy integration and support to more
advanced VoIP functions like PSTN support, QoS and VoIP gateway
    to the Internet.

has anyone here configured a voip system on their network? we'll be glad
to do it for you

we're using SER derivatives mainly to provide SIP service for voip call establishment...the
startup kit basically supports only SIP...

yes all the softwares involved are free/opensource..
we just made some major enhancements and customizations...

asterisk is too big for this kind of service. i believe asterisk is the ultimate solution as
a replacement for a hardware PBX. but its hardware requirement makes it unsuitable
for a simple/small scale deployment and the way it handles voip traffic which is basically
B2BUA (all voip traffic goes to the asterisk, like tromboning, not directly between the talking phones).

with this SER derivatives, after session establishment, voip traffic will be streaming between
    the two phones...

this startup kit supports easy integration with asterisk if you decide to...

x-lite is the softphone, basically the one you use to make or receive a call or the end party
in the voip system usually called UA (user agent). this is one of the parts, you still need a server or
we call a SIP server that routes your call. this is the real meat in the voip system. this is the big part of what
we are offering here. you can choose any softphone that is best for you and your system. for windows,
x-lite is the way to go, for bsd/linux, we have twinkle, kphone, etc... provided they are SIP enabled.
you can also use a hardphone, like the one from dlink and polycom...
