however, sayang lang kay Cerrone's EGO prevailed on that fight prompting him to think that he could outstrike Diaz with punches

judging on Cerrone's kick intensity,had he used the same Run and Gun strategy, he would have done greater damage,perhaps a TKO, to the other cocky Diaz ..tsktsktsk

yeah, both are great fighters. hit & run or ground fight or whatever they decide to do, the guy who can come up and stick to a better game plan will win.

I think if Diaz and Condit were to punch out each other, Diaz would have been the obvious winner. And which is why Condit had a hit and run game plan which was so effective because Diaz didn't know how to catch him. Diaz was only able to get hold of Condit at the last few seconds of the fight but it was too late already. It was more on execution of the technique than the cat and dog brawl we'd love to see.

Back in the old days, when Ken Shamrock and Dan Savern fought in the early UFC days, they spent sooooo much time dancing around the cage because both knew both are capable of taking advantage of any small mistake which can spell doom to any of them. Not the typical action packed fight you will see when Shamrock and Savern beat up other opponents. Basically the same thing happened with Diaz-Condit... actually Shamrock-Savern was a lot more boring.
