"Please forgive me. I was confused at the time because there were so many things going on. And I did not immediately recognize you," Padlan said in a three-way phone-patch interview on Iglesia ni Cristo-run radio station dzEC.

... in that statement of his, he clearly states that he is "sip sip" and give favors to anybody who's "bigtime". It's funny how our country gives super special attention to tourists especially americans, while filipinos visiting other countries are treated as "normal" tourists.

This is one thing wrong with being a Filipino. In some other countries, I would say most of them, they would serve first the interests of their "own" citizens who are the taxpayers. While here in the Philippines we have the culture of pleasing first the foreigners and never mind what the citizens say. Gusto ta pirme nga malipay ang mga langyaw to the detriment of the taxpayers.

Adto mo ug laing nasud and try to observe them closely and you will agree what I mean.

At least, the president's daughter never wanted to use her influence regarding the matter. Actually, she just wanted to air the side of those who are following the rules, as simple as that. I mean, why would there be any special treatment with these foreigners?

Now, the immigration officer should be punished, albeit properly. This will be a glaring reminder to every government employee to treat everyone fairly.

how I wish some other influential people would do the same, "do what normal citizens do": stand in line, go thru the normal process, never use their name like what Ms Arroyo did etc etc.. and when somebody ie public servants breaks the law, just like what Padlan did, contact his supervisor and tell them their misdeeds. such move will make these officials tip toeing and always cautious. having them always on the look-out would make them do their job as how it should be done... -with integrity-

Believe me because I'm always in the move. Ang pagtan-aw man god mostly sa mga taga immigration if they see ladies going out of the country that these women are contract workers, mga fly by night ba nga OCW nga kulang tawon ug documentations. Mao nga ilang i harass... Unsa man ka? Asa man ka? Tinuod ka nga OCW ka? Naa ka contrata? Mga ingon ana ba... unya sarcastic pa gyud kaayo. Beleive you me... kapila na ko ka experience ug ingon ini nga sitwasyon sa atong airport diha sa NAIA.

Luli is just a very simple woman if you ever happen to see her in person. Di ka kaila nga anak diay ug Presidente kay usahay mag tsinilas lang makit-an nimo sa Mall. Tried to catch her once in one of our shopping malls in Cebu which I won't here, ug maka-ingon ko nga pagka simple ug gawi ning bayhana. Uban pa kita ka nga flashy kaayo.

So during that time she had a bad experience at NAIA, maka-ingon ko nga the immigration simply just saw her as a contract worker nga dali ra kaayo nilang singhag-singhagan.
