what exactly is this and its uses?

hi istoryans!

as i have been digging in sa amo stock room where i placed all old used/unused computer stuffs, i found this;

for those who don't recognize it... this is Real Magic Netstream 2000.

Real Magic NetStream 2000 is an MPEG 2 DVD decoder for video streaming

to me it is like just the typical graphics card we use on our desktop computers but as i have been reading on its specifications. it sounds to me this is not the graphics card that i actually thought would be... and im really surprised to see it in the stockroom when i really dont know what this is exactly. when i opened up plastic packaging, the item really really looks brand new.. the silver metal mount on it doesn't even show any signs of rust or dust.. still very shiny like new.

can anyone share some thoughts on this?

this is a pass-thru card used before para sa mga old computers for DVD playback.

yup, mao na sila. katu first pa nanggawas mga dvdrom... 1/2x pa gani to dvdrom sauna...

exactly.. limpyo p kaayo pag open nko sa sudlanan. mura gyd ug brand new out-of-box.
mao nangayo gyd ko diri dayon ug 2nd opinion.. hehe
