    Default HELP! External Hard Disk Problem


    Guys, i have an external hard disk, Transcend StoreJet 25 Mobile 160GB. Whenever i connect and access it to a PC with Windows Vista or Windows 7 OS, mao ni mugawas.

    But kung sa PC with Windows XP OS kay ma.access siya. It works percfectly with XP. Unsa inyo insights about ani mga bro?

    still the same. mao lang jpun mugawas. is this has something to do with the driver?

    does the USB Icon at the bottom right appear?

    try right click your my computer and left click manage.
    mo appear ang windows manager.
    click disk management. and find the partition for your drive.
    if naay partition nga walay drive letter e click na then right click and choose change drive letter.
    follow lang instruction just next2x. careful lang kung naa kay makit-an nga need e format.

    then balik dri kung ok na.

    hardware lock?

    assign drive letter TS just like explode's suggestion. "location is not available" meaning naka assign na ang F:\ into some other devices. try assign letter Q para di common =)

    virus!

    win7 and Vista are known to be very strict with autorun.inf script.

    hehehe, autorun.inf worm na bro, ayaw kabalaka kay dili man guba imo hardware. sa windows xp, open My Computer then go to Tools, select Folder Options then go to the View tab. Enable Show hidden files and folders. Disable the following:

    Hide extensions for known file types
    Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)

    I-insert dayon ang imo external hdd sa iya port. The type the drive letter of the external hdd sa My Computer, ayaw pag double click. Tan-awa ang sulod sa autorun.inf file, pangitaa ang mga executable or scripts nga nakasulat sa autorun.inf. To open the autorun.inf, safe ra nga i-double click nimo ang file, ayaw kabalaka. Once makita na nimo ang mga executables or scripts nga na mention sa autorun.inf, i-delete tanan then i-delete pud ang autorun.inf file. Make sure nga updated ang virus definitions sa imo anti virus sa windows xp nimo nga PC. Then do a full scan sa imo system.
