    Default Hard Disk Partitioning

    Hello guys.

Been using Partition Magic before pero I've just known tonight na d ni compatible sa Windows 7 kay wala na gi-continue sa Symantec (they were previously owed by Powerquest) and pag develop ani. Ganahan unta ko mag partition sakong HD.

Mao ni akoang mga HD karon:
    C:\ 40Gb Boot
    D:\ 78Gb
    F:\ 78Gb
    G:\ 78Gb

C kay 40Gb HD jud cya. Dako na au ni pag college nako. Hehe.. Buhih pa jud ni til now.
    D, F, G kay partitioned from my 320Gb HD.

    Mao ni akong mga questions:
    1. Pwede ba nako i-expand ang 40gb nako into lets say 120gb na kuhaon nako ang addl 80gb from the 320gb one? Considering na physically lain2x ni cla ug HD.

    2. Naa moy nahibaw-an laing alternative sa Partition Magic? Nahan unta ko sa Partition Magic kay GUI ra cya and user-friendly pa jud. Most importantly walay data lost kung magpartition.

    3. I'm planning sad nga sa 320Gb na lng akong butangan ug OS kaso dh sad ko nahan magreinstall. Naa bay way nga ma-swap ang ginstallan sa OS? From the 40Gb one to the partitioned 320Gb one? Dugay2x na man gud ang 40Gb mao dih na au ko mosalig. Pero kung magreinstall jud ko ug OS para ani, maghuwat na lng ko mobigay akong 40Gb. Mao ra gihapon trabahua. Hehe..

Thanks sa mga motubag! Wa na jud koy alamag ani.

bag-o rapud ko nag search ug partition manager bro. mao ni akong nagamit: Download Free Partition Manager Software - Partition Manager, Disk & Partition Copy, Partition Recovery Software (mao na ang gi suggest sa post above me.)

naa silay home edition nga free. mu support ug windows 7. pero sa 32-bit lang. pero if you need 64-bit support, Google can help you guro, if you know what i mean

suggestion pud bro: mas maayo guro transfer/install nalang nimo to your 320GB. kay tayg mubigay na imong 40GB nga dili najud nimo ma copy imong files nga naa diha.

    hope this helps

    To answer your query @TS:

    1. I think to expand your HDD is only capable to a single HDD.
    2. I dont recommend partition magic or any UI partition manager for HDD in my own opinion. But if you would insist there are lots of software out there try PARAGON I think thats the most popular one. Been using partitio magic before and its good but unfortunately you can't use it on WIN7 and you're right about that.
    3. About transferring of OS from another HDD I dont think its possible. OS must initialized your HDD so therefore it needs basic setup to make it works. Its better to use your 320GB instead since its new HDD and at least 100GB for C: drive OS partition and the rest are for others.

    Hope it helps...

the best thing to do is nothing, just wait till your 40 dies, i dont see anything wrong with your set up.... thats the way to set up a 40 and 320 hd..

Best software for this bro is the norton ghost.. kaya kaya na niya mabuhat imo gusto... and safe pa imo hdd... Ayaw kompyansa sa partition magic kay naa na siya possibility makaguba ug hdd, especially if dili jud compatible ang duha then ma force nimo ug clone..

But agree ko sa idea ni bro luwid nga huwata nalang sa na mo bigay imo hdd nga 40 gb, just add your 320 gb to your system nalang... Anyway, pwede raman ka gihapon mo install ug programs/application to your 320 gb...

Regarding WIN7 and Vista.. No need to use any Partition Software, kay ang OS itself, naa na kaugalingon partitioning.

    1. dili

    2. EASEUS FREE Partition Manager Software: Free Partition Magic alternative for Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7 and Server 2000/2003/2008 Hard Drive partitions.

    3. reinstall nalang, kugihan bitaw ka hehehe ma reconditioned pa imong system and or cloning

note: lesser partitions, better performance(assuming well defragmented hdd | most people wont notice in daily basis)
