OS stands for optical stabilizer or equivalent to nikkor's VR (Vibration Reduction)...which allows you to take pictures at lower shutter speed (<30 sec) or at longer focal range (200 mm) without the blur or handshake effect...It is always to have OS on sigma lens...nice if we can still haggle with the price...
