This is perfect for students who want to earn. in fact, in the 3 weeks since i started this, i earned 15,000 pesos. and take note, i am a full time college student.
So basically, what do i do?
Well, I write content for webmasters. I look for clients or middlemen sa internet who need content for their websites or the websites of their clients. They give me topics to write, keywords, the minimum number of words, and other details i have to add to the articles or content.
How much am i paid?
It depends. The first job I got, i was paid $2.00 per 500 words plus bonus. I literally spent hours on end on the computer on saturdays and a few hours during weekdays. The money was sent to my paypal, which i had not verified to my bank account yet. In the weeks that passed, the amount was slowly increasing. Fortunately, I am to receive my EON card from union bank this week. Once i got to know the ins and outs of freelance writing, i managed to find a few projects that paid me $5.00/500 words, and $4.50/rewrite.
How many hours do you spend writing?
I write for the money. I do not want to burden my mother with my school expenses so I devote not less than 4 hours per night writing. On Saturdays, I can write literally the whole day.
What do you need to start with the job?
You need guts, good english and writing skills, good research skills, and reliable internet.
To start with, I will be giving tips to start a part-time writing career.
1.) as early as now, practice writing.
register sa ezinearticles.com and write some ORIGINAL articles. Good topics to write about are health, real estate, online business, SEO, credit , and banking. These topics are among the high-paying topics. if you really want a client to consider hiring you, then THIS IS A MUST!!!!! this is your portfolio. You have to build this as early as you can because a practicing copywriter will no longer have time to write more articles for his portfolio if he gets constant clients. In this case, his salary will most likely remain the same. The more articles he can show to an interested new client who offers bigger pay, the higher his chances of being chosen.
Remember though that articles submitted to ezine can take up to a week to be approved. This is because of their strict guidelines and the way they approve articles which is manual and not automated. You HAVE TO FOLLOW the guidelines. your goal when submitting articles in ezine is to be a PLATINUM writer. This means that none of your submitted articles have been disapproved by ezine. Remember that humans, not internet robots, will evaluate your work before it becomes approved.
Having a platinum account in ezine gives you the advantage of being able to post more articles. You gain platinum status after 10 articles have been submitted WITHOUT ANY OF THEM BEING disapproved. So make your articles ORIGINAL WITH NO GRAMMATICAL ERRORS. if you dont gain platinum status, you will only be allowed ten articles.
Believe me. When submitting, they will know if it is not original. Remember that they are particularly strict with grammar and spelling.
For starters, it is recommended to start with topics you are comfortable with. After writing a few, you can start practicing on more difficult topics. Make sure you write about those high paying topics.

3.) find webmasters forums.
These webmasters are your clients. Webmasters refer to website owners. Most of them own a number of websites and they simply do not have the luxury of time to write content for their websites. This is why they look for writers. Looking for these forums is generally easy to do. you can do a quick google of "webmaster forums".
REGISTER on these forums and BE ACTIVE IN EACH FORUM. most forums require a member to reach a minimum number of posts before he can advertise his services. its similar to istorya.
However, DO NOT advertise your services right away. and definitely think twice about advertising your services if you do not have samples to back up your claims of being a good writer. This is where tip number 1 comes in. Webmasters respect ezinearticles as the premier article directory in the internet. The more articles on different niches you have written, the more they will consider you. A platinum account is a plus!
What you should do first is to make an observation on the advertisements of the writers. This is quite easy to do. Look for the subcategory in the buy and sell section of the forums that show article or content creation. You can then arrange the list by views or replies. A higher number of replies means that the ad is popular and the writer behind the ad is in demand. Look for respected writers of each forum and notice their writing styles and the way they advertise their services.
Please. if you want to earn good money as fast as you can by being a freelance writer, FORGET ODESK. The place is literally crowded with low quality writers that charge a dime a dozen. You will be forced to work your ass off for slave wages that you do not deserve in relation to your skill level. There is cut-throat competition in there. I am not saying you shouldnt consider odesk. This is just based on my experience and observation. You can try but i cannot guarantee good results.
4.) Prepare a cover letter and prepare a copy or two of your best works.
Like i said, google is your friend. He will help you make a cover letter.
5.) Start small
In the buy and sell section of those webmaster forums, some people are looking for writing services. If one of them offers a job with a fee that you think you deserve, then take a bite. In fact, keep taking offers. Competition is stiff but not as stiff as in odesk so you have to still contact as many prospective clients as you can. Lets face it. Not everyone will bother looking at your application this is why you have to contact many clients. Maybe start with ten per night. Look for the best offers and of course those that fit your capabilities.
Send them your cover letter and your samples, as well as the link to your ezine page. Most importantly, tell them that you are willing to write a free review article for them to evaluate your skills. Let them choose the topic. You should write this article for FREE to make them interested in you. Luckily, many clients will also pay for the review article if they like it.
In time, you will receive a reply.
6.) Prepare for an interview
If the client finds you interesting, he will ask for your IM ID.(yahoo, google talk, skype) this will allow him to evaluate your english skills. This could also be the perfect time for him to test you with an article.
Remember:
RESEARCH multiple sources
And combine what you had read into one sensible article. be ORIGINAL. STRICTLY NO COPY PASTE.
ALWAYS review your finished article before submitting it to him
Most importantly, FOLLOW HIS INSTRUCTIONS. (font, word count, title, keyword density)
Ask him about pay. If he has a high rating in the forums, then it is an indication that he can be trusted.
However, if he is new with no rating at all, make him understand that you require immediate payment for each article submitted. If you begin to trust him, then you both can work out on a weekly payment instead.
7.) Prepare for real work
By this time, you will already have been experienced in writing content or articles. Just remember to tell your employer about the time you can work on his articles so that he will not fire you for low turn around time for the articles.

Never sacrifice quality for quantity.
Rejections will happen but treat it as a valuable lesson.
