I'd say its both a science and an Art, science , in the fact that the steps in managing people are logical in nature , not one management style is on top of the other , you have to combine all the management styles and mix it with the art of people management , a gentle touch, that is where art comes in. I'd say read the book One Minute Manager, it would inspire you a lot
