The Nikon Coolpix S220 has 10 megapixels and a 3x optical zoom lens. The lens has a maximum aperture of f3.1 (wide) - f5.9 (tele).
Basics

- Self Timer: 2 or 10 seconds
- CCD Size: 1/2.3 inches
- Smile Shutter: Automatically takes a photo when someone is smiling
- Blink Proof: Takes two pictures and save one where the subject is not blinking
- Widescreen TV playback or wide print setting
- D Lighting: Enhance a photo by adjusting the lighting
- Macro focusing: 10cm
- Colour Options: vivid, black and white, sepia, cyanotype and pastel.
The LCD monitor is 2.5 inches in size. The screen is made up of around 150,000 dots.
Flash
The flash modes are: auto, red eye reduction, on, off and slow sync.
Scene Modes
There are a number of preset scene modes. These are: Portrait, Night Portrait, Sports, Landscape, Party, Beach/Snow, Sunset, Dusk/Dawn, Night Landscape, Museum, Fireworks Show, Close Up, Copy, Back Light, Panorama Assist and Food.
Movies
You can shoot TV quality movies with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The top recording speed is 30 frames per second. Sound can be recorded and optical zoom can be applied before shooting starts. Digital zoom can be applied during shooting.
