Default 2 resorts in hot water for Lent parties

2 resorts in hot water for Lent parties | Sun.Star Network Online

If the local officials had half the brain and were objective, first of all this ordinance should have not been passed. Why? It is a private resort and the line should be drawn between the separation of church and state and a preference to a particular religion, in this case roman catholic.

what made the local officials think they made the right decision? because bantayan has been given a special privilege by rome being a fishing community, secondly because holy week is a holiday in the philippines thereby giving the government a right to impose.

was it due to politics? probably, by the intimidation of the governor.

Not everyone shares our faith.... just because we are predominantly Roman Catholic does not give us the right to impose our beliefs on others.

It is important to have religious sensitivities but these should only be guidelines and not result in the filing of charges with regards to private entities.

If we are to be fair in the application of this rule, we should also file charges during Ramadan and other religious events and also be mindful of their sensitivities.

I did not say that. I am Catholic but if the government can be influenced by a certain sect, not only catholic, then the RIGHT may be WRONG.

If we cannot let go of our illogical biases then the philippines will never mature as a country.

exactly! if some people went to that private resort (with emphasis on private) to party and enjoy themselves to damnation then let them be, that is their choice. it is not like abortion or murder which takes a life of another, wherein the law can intervene.

I cannot think of any reason why the governor would be so intent on banning these parties except for the obvious one that she is just jealous because she is a campy, old woman who spent thousands of dollars to make herself look younger without any improvement in her face whatsoever. In other words... SUYA NASAD ANG PROBINSYANA...

The next ordinance should be to ban the fugly face of the governor from newspapers because looking at her may make people puke in disgust at her damned ugly face.

dapat ang gobyerno, kahibaw mo lugar ug mogamit sa ilang position.

i personally don't agree with partying during the holy week, not because i am catholic but as a striving moral human being.

i believe that ordinance should be contested or canceled because it is in gross contradiction of the basic right of a citizen in this case business.

since catholic nation man kaha ta, while they are at it, why don't they make it into a law and go nationwide, Boracay included. TOINK!
