    Default party-list are marginalized groups in the country? THINK AGAIN!!!

    Editor's Log | Purple Thumb - Yahoo! Philippines News

    Of the 21 out of the 55 party-list representatives who submitted their Statement of Assets and Liabilities and Networth for 2008, 18 are millionaires.

    Topping the list are Buhay Rep. Ma. Carissa Coscolluela with a net worth of P124.2 million as of Dec. 31, 2008; Agap Rep. Nicanor Briones, P43.6 million; and Yacap Rep. Carol Jayne Lopez, P39.8 million.

    At the bottom of the list are Anakpawis Rep. Rafael Mariano, P55,501.72, and Bayan Muna Representatives Teodoro Casino, P118,900 and Satur Ocampo, P895,145.51.

    Majority of the party-list representatives have spouses or relatives engaged in businesses or in politics. Others are successful professionals.

    don't you think these types of people deserve to be in a wheelchair, raped, robbed, killed, be in an accident, ma-stroke, ma-diabetic, ma-boang, ma-sakit ug terminal cancer, ma-ligsan, ma-matya'g parente, ug uban pa?

    arggggghhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    as for me, wa koy i-lista ani nila... panguhaon pa ni sila ni lord....

    let me add this one....

    Every month, they, too, receive a monthly salary of P35,000. Every year, each of them are also entitled to P70 million from the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) and at least P30 million from Public Works Fund, more popularly known as “pork-barrel funds.”
    Then there are the so-called “extras”—at least for those who align themselves with the powers-that-be.

    Some party-list representatives admit receiving a monthly allowance from the Office of the Speaker. They get additional “bonuses” when the passage of Malacanang-sponsored bills is being rushed. The sums range from P100,000 to P250,000 per vote, depending on the importance of the bill, according to congressional sources.

    The opportunity to travel abroad for free, either by invitation of groups abroad or by hosts within the House of Representatives, is also something the party-list representatives look forward to.
    the red ones are the reasons WHY a government positions are sought after....even the little f**kers called "party list" representatives....

    The whole idea of partylist is undemocratic anyway. It is another example of good intentions that went very badly. The framers of the Constitution forgot for a moment that they were supposed to be building a democracy, but instead created a system where people are reserved seats in representation above and beyond what their numbers justify. The partylist system is anti-democratic, and not advanced western democracy has been crazy enough to implement such a thing.

    I always believe on Charter Change .. because there are so many flaws in the 1987 constitutions .. and among them: PARTY LIST REPRESENTATIVES. I don't think they are doing good at all .. or is there need of them: a congressional representative, represents all the people under his district, most especially those listed as "members of partylist" .. binuang kaayo kay kadaghanan gigamit lang sa laing mga agenda nila .. CHANGE THE CONSTITUTIONS!!!
