I wanted to share my experience to all Istoryans regarding that service center, so that you will be warned about sending anything to be repaired there:
My LG L226WTQ (below) decided to quit working properly after a good 2 years of use. The main problem was that you cannot turn it on anymore using the power switch (lower right portion). You'd have to unplug the power socket and replug it to turn it back on. Turning it off was no problem. So I sent it to the service center to have it repaired. They had to order a new circuit board and replace the power supply unit since they all gone kaput according to their technicians. Ordering the circuit board would take at least 3 weeks since they had to get it all the way from South Korea. They did replace the power supply unit for free though (impressed by this at first). I just told them to order the circuit board and I'll just have to deal with my monitor's issue for now since it technically still works.
They called me back after about 4 weeks and said that they have the circuit board ready. So I sent it back and they had it replaced. It did work when they turned it on at the service center. When I got home though, to my sheer disappointment, it wouldn't turn on; it would stay at power saving mode

. Unplugging/replugging didn't help. So I tried hooking it through VGA (as I was used to DVI-D), and it worked, but it can only go as much as 1440x900 when its native resolution is supposed to be at 1680x1050. The obvious effect was blurry text to the point of being unreadable. The monitor's display also now had an irritating tendency to go off-center. I tried to rule out the possibility of a problem on my end by trying the onboard video DVI-D input for my motherboard, and it had the same problem. I then sent it back, and at first they blamed my computer's settings why it wouldn't work. I was furious: I reminded them that the monitor didn't have these problems at all before they 'fixed' it. To my dismay, they couldn't verify on their end as they didn't have a computer that had DVI-D output

.
So I 'volunteered' my 8600 GT to be installed on their computer, and lo and behold, it also didn't work (still on power saving mode when on DVI-D). They told me that it wouldn't work because the drivers weren't installed. I reminded them that I never had to install the video card drivers to make a monitor work, but they insisted. Take note that I already paid these guys Php 1600 for repairs!! I demanded that they take a look at it again, or I'm getting a refund. They believed it may have something to do with the firmware or the board version.
So after about 2 weeks, they called me and told me that it was already fixed. To my dismay, when I got there, it really wasn't: they just installed the video card drivers, but it still won't display through DVI-D during BIOS startup, but would display once we get to the XP login screen. It also cannot detect the monitor and would show the wrong resolutions, and would not display the native resolution correctly....

.
I am giving them one more week, and if they do not get it right, I am getting a full refund.
To all istoryans, beware of this service center. Their techs are a bunch of idiots.
