Default help: How to connect my tp link router to Siemens S260 modem provided by Globe

I did almost everything but still I can't set it up to connect to the internet. can somebody provide a step by step procedure on how to do it...

i already tried setting it up using the CD of the router to no avail

i already tried setting it up using the web management resource and did almost everything, changing the ip add as instructed in the troubleshooting manual to mac clone whatever to accessing the admin options of the siemens s260 modem of globe but still wala!

i hope someone had the same problem with me and got to fix it so they can teach me how.

im no pc genius so pls bear with me... =)

    try naku explain bai hap.

ROuter = its a device responsible for data distribution in a interconnected pc's
DHCP = basically its a server, a provider of dynamic ip address for the pc within a network that uses dynamic ip addressing
WAN = where it should be the internet will be hook up or your ISP or internet connection will be in this port.
LAN = a pc or switch or other router, lan will be connected here.

now, your modem provided by globe is already a modem router built into one device you just need a switch for this to make share of your internet connection. your modem router has a configuration of a DHCP server meaning it will provide an ip address to a pc's automatically.

inorder to use your tp-link cause your tp link is also a router and has a default running DHCP server on it, this will create a conflict to the modem router if you dont disable this settings. now in your tp-link configuration disable DHCP server. from your modem the port it should be connected to the lan port of your tp-link not the WAN port. and your done!

other configuration. if you can access the modem router provided by your isp you can setup more configuration for your network.

i hope ma sabtan ra. hehe
