which do you prefer for gaming?

i actually have both now, an i7 extreme 965 (3.2ghz) with 12gigs of triple channel ddr3 1600 and a AMD phenom II x4 955 black (also 3.2ghz) with 8gigs ddr3 1600. When both are not overclocked the i7 is much faster in gaming, but since both setups are not the same with amounts of ram and the i7 has more video memory (4gigs of ddr5) than the AMD (2gigs of ddr5) its not a fair comparison here. since im not a good overclocker, i can only OC the i7 with "total stability" up to 3.9ghz and the AMD up to 3.7ghz, although im told both can go much higher.

BTW... most games karon mag depend gyud sa GPU and RAM .... i f you have an uber killer GPU ok kaayu fights na.

some guys here buy cheap proc w/ high performance Graphics cards/mobo and RAM.... ila rang i Overcock ang Processor.

but some dili ra mag OC... Graphics gyud ang ki hatagan ug focus

haha. yup! 4gigs of ddr5 video memory coz its 2 pcs of 4870x2 videocards crossfired. all my games including latest SECTION 8, NFS SHIFT, GTA 4, and the older crysis 1 and 2, etc are all maximum graphics settings na, 16X FSAA, 16X Anistropic Filtering, etc... and very smooth and fast gihapon. maybe coz the system ram is also 12gigs of triple channel 1600 ddr3. nakabantay ko nga pwerteng importante gyud ang system ram para walay problema ang gaming even in my older pentium 4 systems sa una. but kini tanan libre tungod sa xdeals sa Y101. hehehe. btw poldopunk, asa nato ma post ang atong rigs? kay nagita ko thread diri for posting rigs, wala gyud nako na kit-an.
