I just bought this FreeAgent Go Last July of this year, It works well not until last week, when I try to connect it to my pc and my pc would just go hang. I try to wait the process... and when it's done my Windows XP Pro SP2 actually detects it in my computer and in the disk management but whenever I try to Right click the icon in My Computer again the OS hangs... then I try It in the disk manager, clicking the Disk Management it shows the full capacity of the disk drive but showing no space being used and doesn't even show w hat type of file system. And I know I already used about half of the portable HDD's capacity which is 298GB. But when I right click the properties of the drive it shows 0GB capacity, 0GB used, and now it shows that it's in RAW format file system instead of NTFS. I really can't afford to lose every data that is stored inside of that thing 'cause all my photos, movies, installers, music, creations, my compositions, research, presentations, and etc is stored in there...
all types of music format even movie formats are there... same with different types of File formats PDFs, PSDs, docs, & etc... It's my Life's history is stored on that thing and it suddenly vanished I can't even access it. I have payed thousands of pesos just to have my 11 thousand songs.... and most of the movies there downloaded in the Net. I try to search about the warranty but it only applies to the Unit but does not include the data stored on the thing. I don't care about the Unit, All that matters to me is the Files stored on the thing. I'm still hoping that I can still access my files 'cause the I still don't think it's the hardware that is the problem but it's the software. I even try downloading its software from its Site, and it doesn't even detect my drive... I even try using it to other PC's but it won't work either, it's just the same symptoms being observe... does anyone can help me try to re cover the files or just recover the HDD to be accessed? I'm so drained by this.
