Laptop shuts down even when running on ac power

Hi, im trying to help a friend out. Naa syay laptop (Dell Latitude D600) na kalit na lang daw mapalong while he is using it. Abi niya kay naay problema ang battery, pero mapawong man gihapon bisan naka plug ang adapter.
Can anyone advise, bisan basic troubleshooting ra to help isolate the problem? nagtravel man cya and dugay pa before cya makabalik sa city. Salamat daan sa reply.

check if heat issues ni.
usually ang mga ingon ani na model kay naa heat issues.

1. how long does it take before sya mag shut down?
2. then after shutdown ma turn on daun ang system o pabugnawon pa before mo turn on?
3. try to run diagnostics on it. then check if mo shut down pud during diags
4. diags can be accessed thru F12.
5. check ang vents.
6. go to bios by pressing F2 during boot up. then let it stay in bios. if mo shut down gani gihapon bisan naa sa bios dako possibility na heat issue dyd.

usually if ma pawng cya while ga gamit cya kay puno na ug abug iya vent ug fan. mao na mo init pag ayo.

Inig on sa laptop, mu-siga for a few seconds ang lights then mapawong balik even if naka plug ang adapter. dili mi kaabot sa BIOS or Diagnostics. Sa motherboard ba ni cya or possible ba na naay component that is causing the problem like ram or drive?

if the laptop is on battery power we get a response from the laptop pero mapawong dayon. if laptop uses only the adapter as power source, the laptop is completely dead. so possible na adapter ang problema, pwede sad ang paslakan sa laptop ang daot. is there anything else we can try to find out which is guba? salamat.

na isolate namo ang problem to the adapter port. nakasuway mi og laing adapter, dead gihapon ang laptop. murag motherboard jud and daot. salamat again sa inyong tips. God Bless.
