1. All forms of life are made up of substances which in turn are made of atomic particles.
2. What they identify as spirit has no material reality. But it serves some practical purpose for them to believe that it's real anyway.
3. What appears like empty space might be filled with air molecules.
4. Everything that exists is governed by physical laws. Some laws might not have been discovered yet. And some might not have been understood well enough.
5. Each entity exists within the bounds of the cosmos.
6. God is usually made in the image of whatever conceives of it, especially man.
7. Matter can neither be created nor destroyed; it only changes from one form to another.
8. Death happens to living things. But some people can not accept its finality so they imagine some forms of immortal existence to cope with the dread of annihilation.
9. The physical laws that govern the solar system, or the universe for that matter, can be understood in terms of mathematics.
