I find this so annoying when you try to delete a file and XP tells you the file is in use even when you have no progams running in the taskbar.
Is there like a tool or something to know this?

restart rana imo pc bai.kasulay nka?ana jud na sa xp.
delete it on MS-DOS command-line mode, press F8(?) during windows startup
Was going to suggest "Unlocker" pero gi-suggest naman diay ni bossdak. FYI, you don't need to restart or go into commandline mode (kinaraan kaayo nga paagi). You just need "Unlocker". It has solved 99% of my "locked" file/folder problems when I try to delete something.Originally Posted by bossdak
Also, this should be in the Software/Games section.
I use Aevita Wipe and Delete for files like those
Not necessarily MS Word or Zip files. WInzip no longer locks zip files when viewing them since versio 9 or 10 i think.
Kalagot kaayo na kanang mag delete ko ug folder sa %temp% nako nya naai mga files nga di madelete kai gigamit daw. Gigamit sa unsa? I'm not running anything!
I know a restart will probably fix that issue but that's just a bruteforce way of fixing this problem considering I know only one program in memory is holding it. The question is, which one?
Try lagi og Unlocker... It will show which program(s) are using a the file you want to delete and force them to release their hold on that file.Originally Posted by tokidoki
