Default Smartbro/Globe Tattoo users: need your expert advice on this matter

fellow istoryans, naa ko sister nagskwela sa usc and nagboard sa saint mary's dormitory sa ramos area, duol sa casa verde. yesterday, ako gi-setup iyang computer and nihangyo siya nako if pwede ba mapa-internet ang pc kay para di na siya magna-og2x kung kinahanglan niya magresearch or mag-surf2x. di musugot ang owner sa dorm na magpalinya ug internet so i thought of maybe using smartbro or globe tattoo. mas maayo man gud if after school, diretso na cya boarding house, didto nalang mag-internet kaysa sa mga internet cafe. nagbasa2x ko ug mga online forums and got mostly negative feedbacks from users.

unsa jud mas maayo nakong buhaton? should i go for smartbro or globe tattoo or do i have any other options aside from the two?

additional info: iyang room kay naa jud sa sulod sa dorm and even ang tv tunner sa pc walay signal makuha.

    Thank you sa inyong pagbasa

tsk tsk.. got a 3g phone? survey it first... if it has a stable 3g signal then you're good to go! if not, too bad..

if it has a 3g, i would recommend to buy your sister an LG 3g for all phone, most affordable 3g phone, rather than buying a usb stick, which cant receive calls.. in the long run you'll have the benefits of phone. use a regular smart sim @ 10php/30mins.. blocking scheme.. that's what i used when i was still in a bhaus with my v3xx.. reasonable browsing speed. plan what you wanna do online first..

    akong suggestion rani ha.

icheck sa daw kung makasulod and kusog ba ang 3G signal(either smart or globe) within sa room.
maybe try it from your fone kung naa ka 3G. kung kahibalo naka asa kusog nila then mao nana.
(wla ko nagadvert but i think kusog ang signal sa smart)

last year naka palit ko ug globe visibility (tatoo nmn cguro ni karon) and luckily wla pa gilock para dli makagamit ug lain sim kay right now ako gilisan ug smart sim tungod kay hinay ang globe signal sa amo.
so far, maabot man cya ug 382kbps. then paspas ang connection at midnight.

yeah right ichck f na 3G signal, or much better 3.5G Signal nga mogawas during internet/wap browsing.
3.5G Of curz mas pas2x sa 3G, 3.5G or HSDPA or 3.6Mps kuno.
How to knw f ang place naay 3.5G signal, first knw d phone models whch is capable ane. Below are nokia HSDPA phones,

    N97, 5800, E71, E75, N96, N85, E55, N95, 5320, E51, N78, E66, N95, E52, 6120C, 6210 NAV, 6720C, 6124C, 6650 FOLD
(sorry dont research other brand ky mahalan q sa ila mga HSDPA Capable phone, n by d way nokia has d lowest priced HSDPA phone, and thats 5320, nxt maybe are E51,6120c or 6124c. for me lng ha.)

f naa mo ana nga phone bai, dn nkaconfigure na ang gprs, try to connect dw, dn f mogawas ang 3.5G, kana maoy d best signal sa pgkakaron. Dn dats it pwd kau ka ug smart bro or globe tatoo.

I dnt advice using this phone as a modem for several reasons,
    1. Compare d price of ds hsdpa phone sa smart bro or globe tatoo, layo ra kau dba?
    2. D same rates ra ni cla pro ang speed ngdepende na nuan, reason f naa nay 3.5g signal ok ang duwa either ana option pro mas paspas ang mga prepaid kit. f wla na nga signal mas ok japn ang mga prepaid kit nya d na ok ang phone as a modem.

F u have an existing or ur sister do have that hsdpa cap. Phone dn i thnk u go with d modem, the same rates sa mga prepaid kit at d same time mkasulit ky kysa mgpalit pakg prepaid kit. Mo vary jud nuan ang speed sa phone as a modem ug ang prepaid kit.

    I hop nkatabang ko.
    Nkatabang ug libog bah... Hejhej...

    libog jud.
    clarifications lg:
way labot ana gprs config uy. access points cguro imo pasabot.
if nay existing 3g/hsdpa capable nokia phone: use the phon instead of buying prepaid kit (ever tried modem over bluetooth connection??)
same speed lg na bro. as long as settings are the same for the phone and prepaid kit.

I'm using a Globe Broadband Tattoo here in OPRRA area medyo hinay jud kung gabii.

ang pass-pass sa akong nabantayan is 6am to 9am (time nga nagreply ko ani)

so far 5 out of 10 ako evaluation sa diri nga area dapit.

depende na sa location ma'am. in your friend's case, lau sa cellsite or nay dagko na buildings palibot nimo.
same ra globe and smart technology. magdiffer lg sa location ang kakusgon sa signal(unless ofcourse the famous network problem na ongoing restoration always)

and kng naa gihapon problema bisag nindot location and wala network problem, naa ra na sa installation ang problema.
e.g. naa ko amigo reklamo hinay iya connection bisag nindot iya location, unsaun man kay gigamitan niya sa modem kay desktop ug naka taud sa luyo na usb port ang modem then naa sa corner sa ilahang balay nakabutang: so obyus kaau na hinay gyud signal...

I have to agree here with everyone na you should first test the signal for both networks in the area where you intend to use the device most of the time...Tattoo and SmartBro are really area dependent...

Am using Globe Visibility/Tattoo right now here in Dumaguete and I'm pretty much satisfied with the speed...maybe because the cellsite is just right across my house...
