Default Maximum Distance for my LAN CABLE

mga bro, im not so familiar with networking since i am more into a plug n play type of tech guy hinoon its only for my own use.

anyways, i have a myDSL connection in my office with a DLink Wireless Router, however I want to connect a physical line to house which is about 200-300 meters away. this way i dont need to subscribe to another package. and also i can work while at the comfort of my own home.

question, what's the maximum distance for my lan cable(RJ45?) without using another hardware

if there is really a need for an additional hardware to be able to reach great distance what would that hardware be? i am currently in HK now and I think I can buy this things cheap.

    thanks for the help!

Since your the boss i think you can afford to have your own Internet connection, right boss?

can work while at the comfort of my own home.
Take advantage of the VPN boss.

now mao na sad na problema kay dili ko kahibaw anang VPN, unsaon pag setup or i need to open a VPN account with a 3rd party. i remembered while i was still working, IT dept gave me a RSA ID token which i need to use when logging in sa amo network.

so thats why i prefer to use one network para share lang sa files/folders.

also i am not always at my house since i travel a lot (weeks) so sayang sad ang monthly.
and besides P4K is P4K kung pwede ma save na nimo, why not?

are you familiar with this? do you have a solution to share? thanks!

Theoretically its 100mtrs. Though in actual practice this can be exceeded, and will depend on the following:
    - application
    - quality of hardware
    - cable and its components.

thanks sir. so in other words i need to add another hardware to reach the distance?
the extension LAN would have to support:

    - browsing, P2P/VOIP, IPCam and email

since you're always on the road, traveling a lot, etc..., setup a VPN server in your office, then access that from a WiFi spot wherever you are. Professor Google can teach you how to setup a VPN.

Yes.. similar to a repeater, but you can actually use ordinary switches, hub, to extend the its service length.
