Portable HDD or Encased HDD?

i dunno if there was a topic like this before.

i want to ask from you istoryans what are the advantages/disadvantages of using a portable hard drive versus a hard disk in a case.

I guess same rana sila a hdd inside the case could be a portable hdd just buy an enclosure on it, where the portable hdd is made or built to be portable or handy. No difference but a little of its size coz usually portable hdd's are usually 2.5 of size.

sakto ka yugi, portable hd is just a hard disk in a case... gisell lang cya as a package, while the other option u gave is ikay muassemble sa parts which are mainly: hard disk and case.
